Some people are great trainers and some are great teachers. Carol Schulz, the cornerstone of our program, is both.

Carol is a Michigan Dressage Trainer, USDF Silver Medalist and USDF L Judge.

She has trained for many years (both in the US and Germany) with German based international rider, Catherine Haddad, who was the alternate for the 2006 US WEG Team and obtained a wild card for the 2007 World Cup.

Carol currently trains with Roz Kinstler,  Maryal Barnett, and Jochen Hippenstiel.  She has also worked with well known US based trainers Jan Ebling and Betsy Steiner.

Carol was featured in the May 2007 issue of Jackson Magazine.

Carol has schooled the Grand Prix and shown up to Intermediate I.  She possesses the necessary skills and experience to develop a solid foundation for the horse, which is required to train up the levels.  She doesn’t believe in pushing the horses past what they are physically or mentally prepared for by skipping steps or using artificial means.  The horses she develops are forward, light, supple and happy in their work.

Carol communicates with her students in a patient, but challenging manner. She is very good at assessing each person’s learning style and adjusting her teaching methods to accommodate their needs.

Carol is also experienced and successful assisting riders to overcome their fears whether from a previous riding incident or nerves at a competition.

Being a graduate of the USDF L judges program and having the experience of sitting in the judges box, Carol can also assist competing riders with the presentation and analysis of their dressage tests.

At the end of the day, it’s important to Carol that her students be successful in meeting their goals and have fun doing it.
